Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy Treatment Can Help Your Pet!

Why choose Laser Therapy?

Laser Therapy can be used for many different ailments from chronic conditions to superficial wounds. It speeds up the healing process at a cellular level and promotes circulation.

Some examples of treatable conditions are, but not limited to:CTS

  • Wounds
  • Neurological Conditions
  • Dermatological (Skin) Problems
  • Pain/Trauma
  • Inflammation

Whether your pet needs treatment for a new or old injury, for healing after surgery, or simply for aging-related conditions, Laser Therapy can speed the healing process and provide relief.

How does Laser Therapy work?

Laser light is delivered through a non-invasive hand-held piece to treat the affected area. Photons, or packets of light energy, are sent into the tissue (deep or shallow depending on the type of condition) without damaging it. The photons are then absorbed within the cell to induce a chemical change called “photo-bio-modulation”. The light energy promotes the production of ATP, or cell fuel, which is needed for cellular repair and reproduction.

Your pet will feel a gentle and soothing warmth as the laser is administered. Many pets begin to relax immediately as they are given relief from pain, almost as if they were getting a good massage. Occasionally cats begin to purr and dogs will fall asleep during their Laser Therapy session.

What can I expect after treatment?

Most patients experience immediate pain relief and reduction in inflammation. This can cause your pet to have a change in activity, such as increased playfulness or more relaxation. Our vet staff will work closely with you so you know what to expect and when to expect some sort of change in activity or behavior.
