Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative is the face of BloomingPaws and is directly responsible for conveying to the outside world who we are and what we strive to represent. On the surface, they are responsible for checking in and out clients for daycare, boarding, grooming, and training services, but their roles extend much further. Our CSRs ensure that our clients have all the information they need to ensure the proper care of their pets, both while they’re in our care or at home. Additionally, it is through the CSR that our clients learn about the welfare of their valued pets while they are here with us. The CSR is the vital link between the public and our animal care staff, veterinary staff, and management.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Friendly & helpful attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, staff, and vendors in person and over the phone
  • Basic computer proficiency; must be able to learn computer software
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to handle dogs on a leash and recognize basic animal behavior
  • Willingness to be a team player
  • Ability to carry up to 25 pounds

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
  • 1 Year of Customer Service Experience

Animal Care Technician

Animal Care Technicians are responsible for the care of all pets at the BloomingPaws facility. This includes maintaining high standards of cleanliness & sanitation, feeding & water, animal behavior, and customer relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep pets in control when in the building – every pet has a leash – no loose dogs!
  • Able to properly recognize animal behavior and body language.
  • Ability to handle potentially aggressive dogs and cats.
  • Providing an adequate constant supply of fresh clean water for all pets throughout the day.
  • Properly administer all types of medications. These include, but are not limited to ear and eye medications, oral liquids and pills, and insulin.
  • Perform nose to tail inspections on all boarding and daycare pets.
  • Check in, provide proper collar identification, and place all incoming boarding & daycare pets.
  • Appropriately assign group play dogs to appropriate play group.
  • Complete and log daily kennel inspections for all boarding dogs.
  • Prepare accurate feedings using a variety of food for all boarding and daycare pets per detailed instructions.
  • Applying a wide variety of leashes, harnesses, and collars before bringing pets into the lobby at pick up.
  • Ability to handle multiple dogs on leashes at one time
  • Present pet to client in a professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate well with clients, and answer any questions they have in regards to their pets while being cared for at BloomingPaws.
  • Completes proper procedures for injury/illness reports
  • Maintain high level of building cleanliness following daily, weekly, and monthly task lists (vacuum floors throughout building, clean windows, doors, etc.)
    • Make sure building is tour-ready at all times
  • Follow proper procedure for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing all housing areas for pets including kennels, patios, and isolation cages.
  • Operating an industrial dishwasher to clean bowls and kennel supplies.
  • Monitor laundry throughout the day.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Group Play Guardian:

A Group Play Guardians primary role is to provide a safe, fun, stimulating environment for all dogs participating in group play.  Reporting directly to the Group Play Supervisor and working closely with the Master Trainer, Group Play Guardians will be trained to manage a large group of dogs in an off-leash play environment.

Responsibilities:

Group Play

  • Safely and efficiently rotate dogs to group Play areas and back to assigned kennels
  • Monitoring overall health and well-being of play dogs
  • Reading & interpreting inappropriate behavior
  • Immediately and properly intervening to address inappropriate behavior
  • Documenting group play incidences

Housekeeping

  • Extensive cleaning of group & independent play areas to provide the healthiest environment possible for the dogs:
    • Picking up dog waste
    • Sanitizing floors & play equipment
  • Maintaining play equipment & removing damaged equipment
  • Properly stowing group play equipment
  • Other duties as required to keep care for the dogs and their environment

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
  • Degree or certificate in Animal Behavior or Dog Training (Preferred)

Grooming Assistant/Bather:

A Bather’s primary role is to provide efficient and complete baths on dogs while ensuring the safety of the pet.  The Bather shall assist with grooming add-ons and report to the Salon Manager in order to guarantee customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Bathing/Grooming

  • Safely and efficiently providing baths, nail trims, minor shaving, & brushing to pets
  • Problem solving when encountering a nervous or reluctant pet
  • Handling and transferring pets through and on different areas and structures (i.e. bath tub, grooming table, etc.)
  • Working closely with Animal Care Technicians & Customer Service Representatives
  • Monitoring multiple pets and practicing good time management
  • Reading & interpreting different animal behaviors
  • Immediately and properly addressing inappropriate behavior in order to ensure the completion of the bath
  • Identifying & documenting health concerns and working with the Vet Staff
  • Communicating effectively & professionally with clients when necessary

Housekeeping

  • Extensive cleaning of the Spa & Salon to provide the healthiest environment possible for the pets:
    • Picking up dog waste
    • Sanitizing floors & grooming/bathing equipment
  • Maintaining grooming/bathing equipment & removing damaged equipment
  • Properly stowing grooming/bathing equipment
  • Other duties as required to keep care for the pets and their environment

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
